Lubosh Odlas
Lubos Odlas was born June 22nd, 1963 in Luby, which has been famous for producing some of the finest hand-crafted stringed instruments in the world since the 16th century.
In 1978 he started his studies at the Music Instruments School of Amati in Kraslice as saxophone and clarinet maker. After a short time when he graduated at the School, he became a specialist of oboe maker at the Amati factory in Kraslice where he worked there.
When his father established the Atelier Saldo in 1992 to demonstrate the superior craftsmanship of music instruments, first of all the finest bows, Luboš stood by him.
His gained craftsmenship by making hoboes helped him to very fast adaptation for making the bows. Moreover, he has got the great teachers, the master bow makers Rudolf Neudörfer and world famous Sasano Mitsuaki from Japan. He took practical training by well known bow Master Tibor Kovácz in 2014.
From 2015 Luboš has started to progress and develope his own career by creatig his master bows from Pernambuco wood. His bows play top musicians, solist or orchestra players, music academies in the U.S.A., Japan, but also in major European countries. Master Václav Hudeček, a violin virtuoso famous around the world, plays his bow, some of the Wihan Quartet, and also winners of International Competitions.
He participated in the International Compettion in Mittenwald in 2005. His violin bow was placed in the 6th position, and his cello bow in the 12th place. He won the first price and the golden medal for his bow at the International Exhibition "Violin: Soul an Shape" in Moscow which was held from 10. to 14. September, 2014, and a special ward for the best quality of bow.
